Tattoo

This is body tattooing: small pieces, agreed in advance, done in the same quiet room as everything else rather than a walk-in shop. It is not permanent makeup — I do not tattoo brows, lips or lash lines, and if that is what you are after I am not the right person. What I do take on is small work where placement and proportion matter more than scale, and where you want the time to get the design right before it goes on you permanently.

Tattoo treatment at SK But First Beauty, Long Island
Good for
  • A first tattoo, if the idea of a shop puts you off
  • Small, fine work where placement matters
  • Something meaningful you want to get right rather than fast
  • A private appointment rather than a walk-in
The appointment 4 stages
  1. 01

    Design

We agree the design, the size and exactly where it sits before anything is opened. Nothing starts until you are happy.

  2. 02

    Placement

Drawn on and checked in the mirror, in the position you will actually see it.

  3. 03

    Tattoo

Single use, sterile, one client at a time.

  4. 04

    Aftercare

You leave knowing exactly how to look after it for the next two weeks, which is most of how it heals.

Questions

Tattoo, honestly

Is this permanent makeup?
No. This is body tattooing. I do not do brows, lips or eyeliner — if that is what you want, you want a permanent makeup artist, and I would rather say so than take the booking.
How big can it be?
Small work only. Send a reference of what you have in mind before booking and I will tell you honestly whether it is something I should be doing.
Does it hurt?
It depends almost entirely on placement — over bone hurts more than over muscle. For a small piece, most people find the anticipation worse than the thing itself.
How do I look after it?
Keep it clean, keep it out of the sun, do not pick it, and use what I send you home with. The first two weeks decide how it looks for the next twenty years.
